ensuring that classroom learning aligns with the needs of the modern workforce.

Michelle McDonald, Deputy Director of Dorchester County Economic Development, highlighted the significance

of the program’s success: “The record enrollment for the 2024 Summer Institute is a testament to the value

that educators and industry leaders place on this initiative. By equipping teachers with hands-on STEM

Power:Ed Executive Director Claire Gibbons emphasized the importance of supporting STEM education and

career pathways, “Power:Ed is proud to support Tri-County STEMersion, for a second year, and its critical

efforts to align STEM curricula in schools with the real-world needs of local employers.”

We are excited to invite you to complete a survey that will reveal which tools employers most desire when recruiting and retaining talent. South Carolina is developing a new statewide education and workforce portal—a centralized platform to help employers connect with talent, training resources, and workforce development partners. Your input is critical in shaping the features of this portal to best meet the needs of businesses like yours. This survey will help us identify the most valuable features for employers and how the portal can complement or enhance your existing tools. Your feedback will directly influence the development and prioritization of key features. The survey is open and will close by EOB on Monday, November 10, 2025 . It should take approximately five (5) minutes to complete. SURVEY CAN BE FOUND HERE: Employer/Industry Association Survey Once you’ve completed the survey, we encourage you to share the link with others who may also be interested in providing feedback.
