Local Businesses Announce Over $350,000 Raised to Support My Sister’s House

Funds raised through the 2024 ‘Reclaim Community’ Gala campaign

Charleston, SC, May 14, 2024 – My Sister's House, the leading nonprofit organization dedicated to providing domestic violence survival services, community outreach, and awareness programs in the Lowcountry, today announced over $350,000 in funds raised through the 2024 ‘Reclaim Community’ Gala campaign, supported by a powerful network of sponsors.

 

Helmed by Atlantic Packaging, 2024 MSH Community Impact Sponsor, the coalition of companies includes Atlas Tech, Fidelity Investments, Low Country Case & Millwork, Mankiewicz Coatings, Origin Point Brands, Regions Bank, Renee Rivlin, T-Mobile, and Wild Dunes Resort. These sponsors have stepped forward publicly to increase awareness of My Sister's House's life-changing, free domestic violence survival, recovery, and education services.

 

In an advance statement on their alignment with the MSH mission and programs, Becca Schusler, Atlantic Packaging’s Director of Wellness, stated, “Our partnership with My Sister’s House is particularly meaningful because we believe that well-being is about a person’s entire self feeling healthy. Our Atlantic Packaging colleagues should feel safe in their communities, and we have a responsibility to support this by contributing to and promoting resources that can help save lives. We are about connecting with purposes greater than our individual selves – by doing this, we help to foster healthier people, healthier communities, and a healthier society.”

 

At the May 14th, 2024, press conference, business leaders convened at My Sister’s House for the funding announcement and shared public statements on their perspectives, purpose, and passion for sponsoring the vital, free services MSH provides. The remarks underscored the courageous, critical actions that regional stakeholders can take by using their platforms and networks to help connect DV survivors with vital resources and diminish the shame and stigma suffered by victims of intimate partner abuse.

 

Speakers included Brian Miller, CEO, Atlas Tech; Stephanie Eikenberry, CFP, VP, Branch Leader, Fidelity Investments; David Stasiukaitis, CEO of Low Country Case & Millwork; Amber Paugh, HR Director, Mankiewicz Coatings; Raymond Hamilton, CFO and Lindsay Bilbrey, People & Culture Manager, Origin Point BrandsRenee Rivlin, ESQ., Board Chair, My Sister’s House, and Tanisha Simmons, Team of Experts Coach, T-Mobile Charleston Customer Experience Center

 

Themes of hope, empowerment, and individual responsibility for creating a safer, healthier community were reflected throughout their statements. Leaders spoke of seeing tangible impacts throughout their organizations, from employees seeking support to escape relationship abuse to colleague participation in expert-led dating safety workshops. Equally profound and constant was their dedication to continuing their funding and advocacy commitments to stabilize further My Sister’s House’s vital DV recovery and education resources, including private emergency shelter, 24/7 resource HOPE-line, court advocacy, individual & group clinical therapy, and issue awareness events.
