Our Approach
As the voice of business in our region, the Greater Summerville/Dorchester County Chamber of Commerce is committed to advancing public policies that support economic growth, workforce development, and quality of life for the business community and all residents. Our legislative priorities are grounded in data, guided by community input, and driven by a commitment to long-term impact.
The Chamber will serve as a conduit of communication between the private sector and elected leaders. We are committed to advancing this agenda through the following strategies:
- Host In-Person Listening Sessions with stakeholders, employers, and residents
- Spearhead a County-Wide Vision Plan with actionable steps for long-term growth
- Support Smart and Appropriate Land Use to accommodate workforce and housing needs, office space needs, and outdoor experiences
- Conduct Research & Data Analysis to inform policy positions and community needs
- Champion Workforce Upskilling Initiatives that align training with market demand
- Promote collaboration between employers, service providers of all kinds, and decision makers
