The Coastal Crisis Chaplaincy provides vital community crisis care to the Lowcountry. The mission of this ministry depends upon our   to consistently engage with recurring and potential donors and grantors. The role of the Development Director requires creativity, persistence in daily contact with donors, articulate grant writing, and a close working relationship with the Executive Director and the Board of Directors.


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Donor Contacts:  Make routine calls/contacts with current and past donors to cultivate relations and engagement.
Donor Cultivation:  Meet with donors and/or schedule Executive Director, Board Members, or Development Volunteers to meet donors in private meetings or Chaplaincy donor events to engage them in recurring gifts, planned giving, and other donor options.
Grant Writing:  Create and maintain a Grants calendar. Write recurring grants and research new grants.
Corporate Giving:  Identify past/present corporate giving sources. Research and implement new corporate giving sources.
Presentations:  Present and/or schedule volunteers to make regular presentations to service clubs, congregations, community groups, government agencies, and other organizations for donor development.
Marketing/Social Media:  Responsible for the creation and implementation of print, video, press, and other Chaplaincy marketing materials, as well as working collaboratively on social media presence.
Donations:  Raise a minimum of the organization’s budgeted income.
All other duties as assigned.

The Development Director reports to the Executive Director of Coastal Crisis Chaplaincy


QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS
-Bachelor’s Degree required.
-Excellent verbal and written skills. Proper grammar is essential.
-Excellent soft skills (interpersonal communications, presentation, and manners on the phone or in person)
-Resilient (You must be able to hear 1000 “No’s” without losing hope for the one “Yes!”)
-Positive team attitude
-Must be able to discuss the inter-faith mission of the organization while being sensitive to our diverse religious and secular environments.
-Proficient in computer use including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, email, and social media (Twitter, Facebook, Instagram) and using the internet. Experience in donor management software or other donor database software is a plus.
-Able to work a minimum of 40 hours a week full-time or 20 hours a week part-time, with the understanding that the job will require attending events outside of the regular workday or on the weekend.
-Self-motivated, being able to work without direct supervision.
-Ability to use own initiative and to work independently.
-Motivated by achieving results and completing tasks.


Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $50,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year
