This limited-time exhibit features 26 unique works, all thoughtfully curated to highlight the depth and diversity of fiber artistry in the African American community.

The Dorchester Heritage Center is proud to host the African American Fiber Art Exhibition, a powerful and inspiring showcase of original works by more than 20 African American artists from across the country. This juried exhibition celebrates innovation in both traditional and non-traditional fiber techniques—from intricate hanging pieces to expressive hand-crafted dolls.

As part of the South Carolina State Museum’s Traveling Exhibitions Program, the DHC is honored to be the first stop on this statewide tour. The exhibit is refreshed annually, making each year’s collection a brand-new experience for viewers.

Open August 5 through September 26, this limited-time exhibit features 26 unique works, all thoughtfully curated to highlight the depth and diversity of fiber artistry in the African American community.

Don’t miss this opportunity to explore heritage, storytelling, and creativity through the lens of fiber art.
