Valuable insights into how tri-county employers structure compensation, benefits, and employee support

The final results from this year’s Regional Compensation and Benefits Practices Study are now public. This comprehensive report provides valuable insights into how employers across the tri-county area approach pay, benefits, and workforce support.

The study—conducted by the Charleston Metro Chamber of Commerce and the Charleston Regional Development Alliance, in partnership with the Berkeley Chamber and the Greater Summerville/Dorchester County Chamber of Commerce—captures current compensation and benefits practices across businesses of all sizes and industries.

A total of 84 firms, representing more than 37,600 employees, participated in this year’s survey, accounting for nearly 10% of the region’s total workforce. Manufacturers led participation with 21% of responses, followed by Professional, Scientific, and Technical Services firms at 17%.

While the mix of participating companies varies each year, the findings reveal meaningful shifts that reflect real-time trends in local employer practices. The report offers employers, job seekers, and policymakers valuable data to understand how compensation and benefits are evolving across the region.
