This milestone event marks a significant achievement in Dorchester Habitat’s mission to provide affordable housing solutions to deserving families in the community.

Summerville, SC- Dorchester Habitat for Humanity is proud to announce the dedication of its 75th home on Wednesday, May 8, at 9:00 am, located at 712 North Hickory street in Summerville. The keys to the new home will be presented to homeowner Janell Reyes. This milestone event marks a significant achievement in Dorchester Habitat’s mission to provide affordable housing solutions to deserving families in the community.

The dedication ceremony will not only celebrate the completion of the 75th home, but also the commencement of construction on four new homes for qualifying families. Through the rigorous selection processes, four new potential homeowners have been identified and are working on their 425 sweat equity hours. They are also eagerly awaiting the opportunity to move into their new homes.

“We just broke ground on our first of four homes on Dean Drive,” said construction manager Randy Chavis. “As we begin this construction project, “Building Dreams on Dean Drive”, we already see the homeowners joining a welcoming neighborhood creating a group of new friends.”

One of the key supporters of Dorchester Habitat’s mission is the ReStore, affectionately known as the “shop that builds homes.”  Recently acknowledged as the top-selling ReStore in the state of South Carolina for two consecutive years, the ReStore plays a vital role in Funding Dorchester Habitat’s initiatives and projects.

To celebrate these accomplishments and continue their mission-driven work, the ReStore is hosting a mega sale offering an extra 15% off storewide on donated items.  This sale not only presents an opportunity for shoppers to find amazing deals on furniture, appliances, building materials, and more but also directly contributes to building homes and supporting Dorchester Habitat’s ongoing efforts in the community.

“We are thrilled to reach this significant milestone of our 75th home dedication and to continue making a positive impact in the lives of families in need,” said Erin Roach, Director of Development of Dorchester Habitat for Humanity. “The support from our community, including the success of the ReStore, is instrumental in helping us achieve these goals and create lasting change.”

Members of the press, community partners, volunteers and the public are invited to join Habitat for Humanity in celebrating this momentous occasion May 8 at 9:00 am at 712 North Hickory Street in Summerville.
