Candidates in the June 2026 Primary Election

Rebecca Collett • June 1, 2026

Head to the polls on June 9.

South Carolina voters will head to the polls on June 9 for the state's primary election, where Democratic and Republican nominees will be selected for a variety of statewide offices ahead of the November general election.

Below is a guide to the candidates appearing on the ballot for attorney general, secretary of state, state treasurer, comptroller general, superintendent of education, and commissioner of agriculture.

Candidates running without opposition are not listed, as they have already secured their party's nomination and will move directly to the general election ballot in November.

Early voting is now underway for South Carolina’s June 9 primaries. Voters can cast their ballots now through June 5, excluding weekends. Voting centers are open from 8:30 am to 5 pm and a photo ID is required.
