Over 100 new jobs created as Amazon’s first Dorchester County site brings faster delivery options to customers

SUMMERVILLE, S.C. (June 25, 2025) – Today, Amazon opened a new Same-Day Delivery site in Dorchester County, South Carolina, further expanding its operations in the state. The more than 150,000-square-foot facility, located in the Jedburg Logistics Park, represents Amazon’s continued investment in South Carolina and marks the first Amazon site in Dorchester County. This state-of-the-art facility will create more than 100 full-time jobs with a minimum starting wage of $18.50 per hour plus comprehensive benefits beginning on day one, and supports faster delivery times for local residents.

“We’re proud to join the Summerville community and bring this new delivery facility to Dorchester County,” said John Greenlee, Site Lead of Amazon’s Summerville Same-Day Delivery site. “What matters to us is not just the technology or faster deliveries, but also creating good jobs for over 100 local residents. Our team is focused on being reliable neighbors and providing excellent service to customers across the Charleston area. We look forward to being part of this community for years to come.”

The Same-Day facility is designed for speed, with smaller footprints, streamlined conveyors, and picking directly to pack stations. Thanks to these streamlined operations, Amazon can pick and pack customer orders in minutes for fast, reliable delivery. As a hybrid facility, it allows Amazon to fulfill, sort, and deliver all from one site—making the entire process of delivering customer packages even faster. The facility is already providing same-day delivery service, with click-to-delivery promises of five hours or less for many popular and convenient items that customers frequently order.

With the addition of this new site, Amazon continues to expand its Same-Day Delivery service, which is currently available on millions of items for customers across more than 120 U.S. metro areas. The company plans to double the number of Same-Day Delivery sites in the coming years. For Charleston-area customers, this means rapid delivery of everyday essentials and frequently ordered items, enhancing the convenience of Amazon shopping for the local community.
