"Last year, the Community Resource Center distributed over 2,500 toys along with hygiene items and food to families in need throughout our community. This year, we've partnered with Dorchester County with a goal of collecting 5,000 toys that will double our impact from last year," said Louis Smith, Executive Director of the Community Resource Center of Summerville. "We have found that the need for Christmas assistance is even greater than last year, and we are excited to expand this program with all of our new partners."

"On behalf of County Council and Dorchester County Government, I want to thank the Community Resource Center for their work in providing for families not only during Christmas but throughout the year," said Chairman Bill Hearn, Dorchester County Council. This year, as we begin making plans for the holidays, I invite our residents to join us through the gift of giving as we spread joy to those in need this holiday season."

“WM is proud to partner with Dorchester County, the Community Resource Center and all of our partners to collect and distribute toys for the children of Dorchester County. The holidays are a special time, and it is our honor and privilege to assist with this remarkable project that will produce benefits for years to come,” said Marla Prince, WM Senior Community Relations Specialist.

The Do More Christmas Toy Drive appreciates the partnership with Lowe's Home Improvement and WM along with many local businesses and residents who have come alongside this project by hosting boxes, making donations, and volunteering time.

Toys, hygiene items, and food will be distributed on December 23 from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm at the future location of the Central Health and Human Services Complex at 1452 Boone Hill Road in Summerville (the former BI-LO building).
