Summerville welcomes Cassie Ford as Summerville’s Tourism Director

Summerville welcomes Cassie Ford as Summerville’s Tourism Director.

As Summerville’s Tourism Director, Cassie’s mission is to share the sweetest parts of Summerville and inspire guests near and far to experience them. She is excited to serve our town with her knowledge and skill from 10+ years of multimedia marketing experience.

When she’s not crafting the next ad campaign, she’s likely found sipping a vanilla latte and spending time with her husband and three children.

The main parts of this role include:

  • Digital and traditional marketing to promote Tourism to Summerville
  • Support and promote local hotels, inns, and restaurants
  • Coordinate with the Visitor Center to ensure guests have everything they need when they visit
  • Serve as the representative for tourism at the local, regional and state level

"Like so many teens at the time, I was determined to have the coolest MySpace page. I was designing my graphics and editing the HTML to customize my layout weekly. You could say that was the start of my passion for digital marketing," Cassie said of her first experiences in the digital space.

From there, she taught herself a few Adobe programs and assisted her father, a web developer, with branding and website design projects.

Eventually,  those experiences led to a Communications Director role for a local non-profit, where she served for nearly six years.  Feeling a longing to support small businesses in online marketing, she started her freelancing business in 2018.

"As a resident of Summerville for most of my life, I have experienced so much of what makes our town special. From the new and modern, to the charming and historical, we have so much to share with guests. I am truly honored to play a role in amplifying that message by promoting tourism."
