CHARLESTON, S.C. – South Carolina House Representative Mark Smith has officially recognized October 15, 2025, as Cohesion Culture Day, a proclamation honoring the founders of Cohesion Culture, Dr. Troy Hall and Ben-Jamin Toy. A proclamation, signed by Representative Smith, celebrates their significant contributions to improving workplace environments across the state.

The legislative body's commendation highlights Cohesion Culture as a transformative workplace movement that is "transforming how South Carolina businesses attract, retain, and engage top talent." Cohesion Culture is defined by its core principles: Belonging, Value and Shared Mutual Commitment.

“Dr. Troy Hall has again created an invaluable tool for organizations and businesses through Cohesion Culture. I devoured all of the pages of his book: Cohesion Culture, Proven Principles to Retain Your Top Talent,” stated South Carolina State Representative Mark Smith. “There are so many great lessons in it that I wanted to share it with my entire organization. I am excited to recognize Cohesion Culture Day this October. Thank you for sharing your talents, Dr. Hall.”

The proclamation recognizes that by fostering a strong sense of belonging and value, Cohesion Culture improves collaboration, morale, and overall performance within an organization. This ultimately contributes to making South Carolina a better place to work and live.

"We are incredibly honored by this recognition from the State of South Carolina," said Dr. Troy Hall. "Our mission has always been to help organizations create environments where every individual feels valued and has a shared commitment to a common goal. This day is a testament to the hard work of countless businesses in our state that are embracing these principles."

“I’m honored by Representative Smith’s recognition,” says Mr. Toy. “Dr. Troy brings the wisdom and depth of Cohesion Culture, while I bring the adventurous edge to make it come alive. Together, we simply want to help people belong, feel valued, and stay committed.”

To mark this special day, Dr. Hall and Mr. Toy are also celebrating the release of their new book, The Cohesive Sales Approach, which will be available on October 15. The book extends their core philosophy to the world of sales, providing a roadmap for creating a high-performing and collaborative sales team by building a foundation of belonging, value, and shared mutual commitment.

The Cohesion Culture movement, championed by Dr. Hall and Mr. Toy, provides strategies and tools for businesses to build a more unified and effective workforce. The state’s recognition of their work serves as a powerful endorsement of their philosophy and its positive impact on the South Carolina economy and community.
