Leadership Dorchester Class of 2025: Garden Tea Party for Good Recap and Next Steps

Ticket sales and raffle entries brought in $4,300, moving the class closer to their vision.

The Leadership Dorchester Class of 2025 recently hosted its “Garden Tea Party for Good”, a successful fundraising event in support of this year’s class project with Beyond Basic. Through ticket sales and raffle entries, the class raised an impressive $4,300, a significant step toward bringing their vision to life.

The event offered attendees an inside look at each project site. Guests were guided through the spaces while classmates shared details about the transformation planned and the long-term impact the project will have. The class project is focused on improving accessibility, safety, enrichment, and fun for the Beyond Basic teammates who utilize the facility. This walkthrough allowed the community to see firsthand the mission behind the effort and exactly what their contributions would support.

Adding to the evening’s success, the Beyond Basic team played an integral role. From assisting with set-up and clean-up to creating and serving “BB bites” for attendees, their involvement highlighted the strong partnership at the heart of this year’s project. The raffle was another highlight, with prizes donated by local small businesses and distributed to excited winners thanks to the teamwork of the Beyond Basic participants.

Project Timeline

The project is scheduled to begin “construction” the first weekend of October, pending weather, with plans to celebrate a ribbon cutting at the end of October. Thanks to the generosity of sponsors and supporters, all major expenses are covered and the class is financially well-positioned to move forward.

Continuing Support

While the project itself is fully funded, the class welcomes donations to support Beyond Basic beyond the ribbon cutting. Additional contributions will allow the organization to continue enhancing the space and expanding the impact of this community partnership.

The Leadership Dorchester Class of 2025 extends its gratitude to all sponsors, donors, and community members who made the Garden Tea Party for Good such a success. With the momentum of this strong start, the class looks forward to completing the project and celebrating the positive changes it will bring to Beyond Basic and the wider community.
