SUMMERVILLE, S.C. (November 21, 2022) – Dorchester County Economic Development announced the recent addition of Brantley Strickland, filling out the department as its new Project Manager.

As Project Manager, Strickland will serve as the primary point of contact and supervisor for all project-specific efforts, including Requests For Information (RFI) data calls and submissions, coordinating with South Carolina Department of Commerce to ensure the accuracy of Dorchester County’s sites and buildings in all databases, and supporting DCED’s director, John Truluck, with research and details necessary to continue to make Dorchester County highly competitive in the region.

Strickland began his economic development career with the Southern Carolina Alliance in 2015 where he served as senior project manager until summer of 2022 when he took on the role of director. He holds a Bachelor of Science from the University of South Carolina and in 2019 received South Carolina Certified Economic Developer status. Strickland and his wife, Amie, reside in Walterboro with their children J.D. and Anna Grace.

“To add Brantley, with his experience and reputation, is a huge win for our economic development program. His many talents are already being put to work and proving that he will be valuable addition to our Dorchester County team.”
— John Truluck, Director, Dorchester County Economic Development

“I am excited to join Dorchester County Economic Development and to be a part of the dynamic team John Truluck has already assembled. Dorchester County is primed for even more growth in the coming years, and I look forward to diving right in and contributing to those efforts.”
– Brantley Strickland, Project Manager, Dorchester County Economic Development

We are excited to invite you to complete a survey that will reveal which tools employers most desire when recruiting and retaining talent. South Carolina is developing a new statewide education and workforce portal—a centralized platform to help employers connect with talent, training resources, and workforce development partners. Your input is critical in shaping the features of this portal to best meet the needs of businesses like yours. This survey will help us identify the most valuable features for employers and how the portal can complement or enhance your existing tools. Your feedback will directly influence the development and prioritization of key features. The survey is open and will close by EOB on Monday, November 10, 2025 . It should take approximately five (5) minutes to complete. SURVEY CAN BE FOUND HERE: Employer/Industry Association Survey Once you’ve completed the survey, we encourage you to share the link with others who may also be interested in providing feedback.
