The Chamber Divisions and Councils are just another way to keep our members informed and connected!  Our Divisions host speakers and experts on their specific concentration each month. Attend these meetings to stay updated on industry trends and news!  Our Councils are groups of members from similar industries and communities.  Check out the Chamber Calendar to find out when the next meeting takes place! 

Divisions

  • Business & Community Development Division

    Business & Community Development Division engages in issues and improvements surrounding various aspects of our community, including tourism, infrastructure, energy, and environment.  


  • Education & Workforce Development Division

    Education & Workforce Development Division promotes the idea of an educated workforce by supporting local educational institutes.  The division also serves as a liaison between the Industrial community and schools. 


  • Public Policy Division

    Public Policy Division focuses on public policy issues and legislation affecting the surrounding communities. The division maintains relationships with governmental officials and organizations. 


Councils

  • Nonprofit Council

    Nonprofit Council addresses issues and concerns affecting nonprofit organizations. 


    (Meets the 3rd Thursday of each month, 9:00 am, Chamber Boardroom)


  • Young Professionals Council

    Young Professionals Council mixers are held each month for our under 40 crowd to network and socialize. 


    (Meets the 1st Thursday of each month at various locations.)



  • Downtown Area Council

    Downtown Area Council addresses issues and concerns affecting the downtown Summerville area business community.


    Meets on a rotating schedule. 



  • Knightsville Area Council

    Knightsville Area Council addresses issues and concerns affecting the Knightsville area business community. 


    Meets on a rotating schedule. 



  • North Summerville Area Council

    North Summerville Area Council addresses issues and concerns affecting the North Summerville area business community.


    Meets on a rotating schedule. 



  • Oakbrook Area Council

    Oakbrook Area Council addresses issues and concerns affecting the Oakbrook area business community.

Service Area

The Greater Summerville/Dorchester County Chamber of Commerce service area has no specific boundaries. Any company that is either located or has a business presence within the greater Summerville or Dorchester areas are invited and encouraged to be a part of the Chamber.
