Hiring event is set for November 5 at Trident Tech in Dorchester County

The Greater Summerville/Dorchester County Chamber of Commerce and Dorchester County Economic Development are hosting a career and job fair on Friday, November 5, 2021 from 11:00 am until 4:00 pm at the Trident Technical College campus, 10055 Dorchester Road, in Summerville. 


Registration for businesses to secure their spot is underway.  From the businesses that have registered, there are currently 1,880 open jobs ranging in pay from $10 per hour to $150,000 per year.

“We’ve heard from our business community that they need workers,” Rita Berry, the Chamber President and CEO, explained. “We want to provide solutions. We’re connecting employers with high-quality employees through this hiring event.” 


Businesses from across all sectors will be on site at TTC’s campus in Summerville to connect with job seekers in an effort to fill full-time, part-time, and seasonal positions.   There are a broad range of openings and schedules to fit candidates’ needs and availability. 


Job seekers are encouraged to come with resumes and be prepared for interviews. Applicants are encouraged to register ahead of the event via the Chamber’s website at

The event will include lunch sponsored by Dorchester County Economic Development from a free food truck.
