THOMAS & HUTTON AWARDED FOR ENGINEERING EXCELLENCE

netGALAXY Studios • February 19, 2020

Thomas & Hutton was presented an Engineering Excellence Award from the American Council of Engineering Companies South Carolina Chapter at its Awards Gala in Columbia, SC on Tuesday, February 4th. The awards competition recognizes engineering firms that demonstrate an exceptional degree of innovation, complexity, achievement, and value.

Our project, “Connecting the Creek,” took home the award in the “Small Projects” category. Connecting the Creek encompassed Phase 3 of improvements to the popular Shem Creek area in Mount Pleasant, SC and included the design and construction of an independent pedestrian bridge along Coleman Blvd. and the creation of a public park destination, increasing connectivity and waterfront access along the popular waterway. We'd like to congratulate the incredible team led by Thomas & Hutton Structural Department Manager, Jen Hayes, PE, LEED AP BD+C and Mount Pleasant Town Engineer, Kevin Mitchell, PE for this tremendous accomplishment.
