Dr. Kay Phillips Receives Prestigious Order of the Palmetto Award

A WELL DESERVED HONOR for Kay who tirelessly pursues safety, soundness, protection, and justice for children across this state.

This month, Dr. Kay Phillips was presented with the Order of the Palmetto Award. 


The Order of the Palmetto is the highest civilian honor awarded by the governor of South Carolina. It is awarded to South Carolinians who demonstrate extraordinary lifetime achievement, service, and contributions of national or statewide significance.

Kay is the Executive Director of Dorchester Children's Advocacy Center. DCAC provides a coordinated response to children and their families when they have experienced a traumatic event. DCAC offers a wide variety of evidence-based therapies to child abuse victims and their families. DCAC serves children ages 0-17 when there are concerns for abuse or the child has experienced a traumatic life event. DCAC serves families living in Dorchester and Berkeley County.
