SUMMERVILLE, SC— 2026 — Steadfast Recovery Ministries cordially invites the Lowcountry community to its first Steadfast Banquet: Rooted in Purpose on Friday, September 25, 2026, at Seacoast Summerville, 301 E 5th N St, Summerville, SC.  This year's theme, Rooted in Purpose, sets the stage for a truly extraordinary evening that celebrates the transformational work happening in the Lowcountry in recovery and invites guests into what's next.

September is National Recovery Month

The Steadfast Banquet–Rooted in Purpose is being held Sept. 25th as part of awareness for National Recovery Month. National Recovery Month is celebrated every September to increase public awareness about mental health and addiction recovery, celebrate individuals in long-term recovery, and recognize the dedicated service providers and communities who make healing possible.

In 2023, there were 2,157 drug overdose deaths in South Carolina, which was a 6.1% decrease from the 2,296 drug overdose deaths in 2022. This is the first time since 2014 that South Carolina has seen a decrease in the number of drug overdose deaths (DPH Vital Statistics).

Established in 1989 by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA), the observance of National Recovery Month highlights evidence-based treatment practices and reduces the stigma associated with substance use and mental health disorders.
