A look at 2024-2025 road projects and allocations in SC

The Chamber is currently reviewing upcoming road work projects planned by the South Carolina Department of Transportation (SCDOT), with a particular focus on developments in Dorchester County for 2024-2025. These projects aim to enhance transportation infrastructure, improve road safety, and facilitate smoother traffic flow throughout the region. By keeping a close eye on these initiatives, the Chamber seeks to ensure that the local community is well-informed and prepared for the changes ahead, ultimately contributing to the county's growth and development.

Make sure your voice is heard about the future of transportation in South Carolina. Take a few minutes and provide your input: https://metroquestsurvey.com/lk8f8u . Momentum 2050 is the statewide plan for the future of South Carolina’s transportation network. Your input is valuable so join us in the planning process.

Did you know you can get real-time traffic information on the phone? If you’re on the road in South Carolina, dial 511 to get updates about traffic and road conditions in areas throughout the state. You can also visit 511sc.org or download the 511 app for real-time information about South Carolina traffic.

Work is underway on nearly every interstate in the State. As part of its Strategic 10-Year Plan, SCDOT is actively working to rehabilitate or replace aging bridges across South Carolina, to prevent any disruptions to our road and bridge network. Many of our aging bridges are load posted, meaning the bridges cannot accommodate heavy vehicles often used for commercial purposes, such as freight carriers or logging trucks.

We are excited to invite you to complete a survey that will reveal which tools employers most desire when recruiting and retaining talent. South Carolina is developing a new statewide education and workforce portal—a centralized platform to help employers connect with talent, training resources, and workforce development partners. Your input is critical in shaping the features of this portal to best meet the needs of businesses like yours. This survey will help us identify the most valuable features for employers and how the portal can complement or enhance your existing tools. Your feedback will directly influence the development and prioritization of key features. The survey is open and will close by EOB on Monday, November 10, 2025 . It should take approximately five (5) minutes to complete. SURVEY CAN BE FOUND HERE: Employer/Industry Association Survey Once you’ve completed the survey, we encourage you to share the link with others who may also be interested in providing feedback.
