Anglers will cast their lines for 11 different species of fish and more than $7,000 in prizes

The Coastal Crisis Chaplaincy is on the hook for its biggest fundraiser of the year. The Lowcountry Bottom Fishing Rodeo returns for its fourth year in Charleston waters from July 8 to July 10 at the Charleston Harbor Resort and Marina.

With prizes up to $7000, anglers cast their lines for 11 species of fish among three categories: inshore, bottom and king mackerel. The family-friendly tournament also includes first responder, ladies and youth divisions.

The entry cost is $75 for the inshore and bottom fishing categories and $125 for the king mackerel. All entrants receive a shirt if registered before July 6. Anglers are welcome to fish all three days.

“We are so happy to host this Fishing Rodeo along with the Charleston Harbor Resort and Marina, our presenting sponsor,” said Rev. Rich Robinson, executive director of Coastal Crisis Chaplaincy. “We are grateful to all of those who participate to help support us as we serve first responders, families and Lowcountry communities.”
