The $200k contribution will not only help with the extension of physical space, but will also help increase service capabilities for children across Berkeley County.

MONCKS CORNER, SC March 17, 2026 — Home Telecom has proudly pledged $200,000 over the next two years to the $2 million Kay Phillips Child Advocacy Center’s (KPCAC) Berkeley Location Expansion Project. Home Telecom recently presented Kay Phillips with the first installment of $100,000.

The $200k contribution will not only help with the extension of physical space at the growing KPCAC but will also help increase service capabilities for children across Berkeley County.

The current 4,300 sq. ft. Berkeley County facility located in Moncks Corner will be undergoing a 6,000 sq. ft. expansion. In the 16 months since the Berkeley location opened in October 2024, the Center has experienced an immediate and pressing need for services due to the steady growth of Berkeley County.

Predictably, more families result in the need for more family support, and the Center has an urgent need for more space and services so they can continue the standard-setting care for which it has become known.

"We are honored that Home Telecom has chosen to provide such generous support for the expansion of our Child Advocacy Center in Moncks Corner,” said KPCAC CEO Kay Phillips. “Critical projects like this are only made possible through strong community partnerships, and we are so grateful for Home Telecom's investment in our essential services to the children and families of Berkeley County for years to come."

The addition will add more clinical, training, therapy and meeting space; extend prevention services into area schools and communities; increase staffing; enhance safety, privacy and emotional regulation; and eliminate current delays for forensic interviews and medical examinations caused by space constraints.

Home Telecom feels the pulse of the communities it serves and is moved by the opportunity to contribute to any outreach that supports children and families.

“We are proud to be a part of this important step forward for the Kay Phillips Child Advocacy Center. It is paramount to our community that we all help to foster healthy, successful children,” said Home Telecom CEO William Helmly. “As a long-time supporter of this organization, Home Telecom values the work the Center does with our local youth to not only provide education on preventative measures, but the support and assistance they provide when abuse unfortunately occurs.”

As a nationally accredited Children’s Advocacy Center, the main goal of the KPCAC is to ensure that children disclosing abuse are not further victimized by the intervention systems designed to protect them. They offer child-focused, evidence-based programs that work closely with representatives from many other disciplines to effectively investigate, prosecute, and treat child abuse.

“Supporting the expansion of the Berkeley location for KPCAC is not just an investment in a building; it’s an investment in the safety, healing, and future of our county’s children,” said Phallan Helmly Robbins, vice president of Growth and Experience at Home Telecom. “When local businesses and non-profits work hand-in-hand, we strengthen the entire community.”

KPCAC services are offered to families on a pro bono basis, ensuring costs can never get in the way of a child’s path toward hope, healing, and empowerment.
