 EcoSteris ran a demonstration of their fully automated operation and explained their sustainable approach to biomedical waste treatment

Summerville, S.C. – EcoSteris, a new SCDHEC permitted biomedical waste treatment facility, hosted its grand opening VIP reception on Wednesday, May 17th, 2023, at their site in Summerville, S.C. Youmna Squalli, the CEO and Co-founder, addressed over 70 guests with a welcome speech saying: “Our facility uses cutting-edge technology and best practices, nationwide, to ensure that all medical waste is treated in an environmentally friendly way. We take pride in our commitment to reducing the carbon footprint for our customers and minimizing their impact on our planet.”

Located at 112 Fabricators St., Summerville, S.C., EcoSteris ran a demonstration of their fully automated operation and explained their sustainable approach to biomedical waste treatment. “Our long-term vision is not only to neutralize the waste in a sustainable, effective, and compliant manner - reducing the carbon footprint of our customers - but to push our limits to divert the treated waste away from landfills." said David Squalli, COO of EcoSteris.

Mr. Todd Friddle, the chairman of Dorchester County Council, attended the grand opening and welcomed EcoSteris to the community. “As we come together for the grand opening of the first EcoSteris facilities, we get to share in the unveiling of a company that is changing how we view and handle medical waste for the years to come.” said Chairman Friddle.
