The Chamber released the 2021 annual report

What a year 2021 was. The Chamber returned to meeting in person for several key events and reimagined other events.

"What amazes me is that despite the challenges we've faced, the obstacles we've overcome, and the triumphs that have kept us going, the greater Summerville/Dorchester County community has retained the kindness and goodness that drew each of us here in the first place," Rita Berry, President and CEO, said.

"We recognize that our members are the fabric of our community and are driven to support their success as it is essential for our future. I count this year as a huge success as we pursued initiatives to promote world class business without compromising our sweet small town charm," Russ Touchberry, the Chairman, said.

For the Leadership Dorchester class project, the participants adopted Beyond BASIC. They raised more than $20,000 in cash and in-kind donations to revamp the exterior of the building.

“The project sponsors helped Leadership Dorchester create a space that Beyond BASIC will find functional for years to come,” Amanda Redick explained.
