October 28, 2026

As Phase 1 nears completion, the $47 million development brings thoughtful infill development, entrepreneurial opportunities, and a walkable experience to the heart of Summerville.

SUMMERVILLE, S.C. — A bold project nears completion in Summerville.

Bonaire Park has released a new highly accurate photorealistic animation offering an immersive look at the $47 million mixed-use development taking shape in the heart of Summerville’s Historic District.

WATCH THE VIDEO HERE

It provides the most detailed preview of the completed property, showcasing its luxury residences, distinctive architecture, pedestrian-friendly promenades, commercial storefronts, large hospitality element with rooftop bar, and inviting gathering spaces.

The release marks an exciting milestone as Phase 1 of Bonaire Park’s luxury residential row homes and portions of its retail promenade near completion. Certificates of occupancy are anticipated in mid-January 2027.

Located along South Cedar Street, just steps from Hutchinson Square, Bonaire Park represents a significant investment in Summerville's downtown and an example of thoughtful infill development that complements the character of the town while creating new opportunities for growth.

The project also reflects several priorities identified in ENVISION 2047, the community-driven long-range vision plan for Summerville and Dorchester County. Among those priorities are thoughtful planning, quality economic growth, a strong entrepreneurial culture and the creation of distinctive places that strengthen the community's sense of identity.

Rather than expanding outward, Bonaire Park is transforming a property in the heart of town into a vibrant destination where residents, businesses and visitors can connect. Its design emphasizes walkability, architectural character and the integration of residential and commercial spaces within the existing downtown.

Creating Opportunities for Entrepreneurs and Local Businesses

Beyond its luxury residences, Bonaire Park is designed to contribute to Summerville's growing entrepreneurial culture.

The development includes 11 commercial storefronts intended to accommodate a diverse mix of boutique retailers, specialty shops and food establishments, along with a signature restaurant featuring rooftop dining.

These spaces will create new opportunities for businesses and entrepreneurs to establish a presence in the heart of Summerville, while expanding the variety of dining, shopping and gathering experiences available to residents and visitors.

The combination of residential living, retail, and hospitality is intended to create an active destination throughout the day and evening, supporting downtown economic activity while preserving the charm that makes Summerville distinctive.

A Rare Opportunity in the Heart of Summerville

Bonaire Park's residential offerings introduce a new standard of sophisticated, low-maintenance living within walking distance of Summerville's restaurants, locally owned shops, parks and cultural attractions.

Each residence features its own unique personality, architectural details, and rooftop views.

Quality construction is central to the development, with structural steel integration, enhanced fire separation and sound insulation systems, Andersen-brand windows, and custom cabinetry.

With the release of this video, prospective buyers and community members can experience the project's overall vision and see in great detail how its residential, commercial, and public gathering spaces will come together to create a distinctive new addition to downtown Summerville.

Exclusive Hard Hat Tours Now Available

As construction progresses toward completion, Bonaire Park is offering exclusive hard hat tours of Phase 1 for interested buyers.

Woman-owned business selected from more than 12,000 applicants nationwide for its resilience, innovation and commitment to workforce development SUMMERVILLE, S.C. — A Summerville small business is earning national recognition for its resilience, innovation and commitment to developing the next generation of skilled workers. Sew Fabulous LLC, a woman-owned alterations, bridal and embroidery business, has been named one of America's Top 100 Small Businesses through the U.S. Chamber of Commerce's prestigious 2026 CO—100 program. Selected from more than 12,000 applicants nationwide, Sew Fabulous is being recognized as a 2026 Champions of Adaptability honoree , a distinction celebrating businesses that have demonstrated exceptional resilience, determination and innovative problem-solving in overcoming challenges. Founded in 2015 by British-born entrepreneur and military veteran Angela Humphries, Sew Fabulous has grown from a small alterations operation in her home into a thriving business offering everyday tailoring, bridal and formalwear alterations, corporate embroidery, uniform services and custom branding solutions. A defining part of Sew Fabulous's success has been its investment in workforce development and preserving the skilled trade of sewing. Recognizing a growing shortage of experienced sewing professionals, Humphries developed the curricula for two U.S. Department of Labor Registered Apprenticeship programs, creating structured career pathways for individuals interested in professional sewing and alterations. To date, the company has supported 11 apprentices through its training initiatives, including five who successfully graduated in 2026. The company also established Sew Fabulous Academy, an initiative designed to expand access to sewing education, strengthen technical skills and introduce new generations to career opportunities in the industry. Rather than relying solely on an increasingly limited pool of experienced workers, Humphries has made workforce development a central component of the company's long-term growth strategy. Humphries will travel to Washington, D.C., in October to participate in the U.S. Chamber of Commerce's CO—100 celebrations alongside fellow entrepreneurs and business leaders from across the country. About Sew Fabulous LLC Founded in 2015, Sew Fabulous LLC is an award-winning, woman-owned business headquartered in Summerville, South Carolina. About Angela Humphries Beyond her business accomplishments, Humphries has demonstrated an enduring commitment to serving her community. She was one of the first two civilians to receive the award, recognizing her dedication to serving and strengthening the local community. Her community involvement includes supporting individuals experiencing hardship, contributing to charitable initiatives, and working alongside organizations dedicated to strengthening the local community.
